U18 County Squad

HJBA would like to congratulate and welcome all the players who have been invited to play in the Herts U18 squad for the new season 2023/2024.

Teams will be chosen from this squad to represent the County in the following events:

• Shires League matches
• Friendly matches
• RIO - a 2 day team event in York
• ICT - a 4 day team tournament at Nottingham University

All the squad members are expected to play in both the appropriate local HJBA tournaments (click here) and National Badminton England tournaments. Successful players in the BE tournaments gain a National Ranking as well as a Grading which determines whether the player is eligible for the Gold, Silver or Bronze tournaments. SQUAD TRAINING

• The Squad meets weekly on Wednesdays at the Hertfordshire Sports Village 8 pm to 10 pm.
• The Training is on four courts and uses feather shuttles.
• To be eligible to play in the squad a player must either live in or attend school in Hertfordshire or have previously resided in the county for at least 3 consecutive years and be born in 2006 or 2007.

These have already been held but if you missed them and think that you are good enough to play for the County then contact the squad manager and you will be invited for a trial.
